Flexible Stone Facade — Church in Ciocana

A Facade Designed to Last

A public building requires visual calm and clean architectural lines. For arches and long horizontal moldings, the facade needed a material that follows radii without adding weight to the walls. Pletaflex flexible stone for facades created an even, stone-like surface and precise shadow lines on the cornices. The plinth features a darker texture, resistant to splashes and abrasion. The contrast between walls and plinth highlights the entrance groups and protects the lower zone from dirt.

The light stone texture behaves softly: in morning light the facade shimmers with a fine grain, while during the day it remains calm and uniform—without stains or striping. The neutral tone works harmoniously with wrought-iron balconies and white window reveals, and does not conflict with the dark plinth.
The sheet format allowed joints of 2–3 mm to be placed in rhythm with the architecture: horizontals support the moldings, verticals align with the spaces between arched windows. From a distance, the building reads as a monolithic light stone mass; up close, the neat joint grid becomes visible. In practice, this material is often called flexible facade tile: the visual effect is close to natural masonry, but with lower weight, more stable color, and simpler maintenance.

Years later, the facade remains intact: shadows read clearly, joints do not “wander,” and the color does not fade. Pletaflex flexible stone delivers a dignified stone appearance without excessive load on the walls.
