Cornice structure

Mixture composition:

Quartz sand
Marble chips
Marble powder
Acrylic binders
Plasticizers and other additives
The cornice is protected from ultraviolet radiation thanks to the quartz marble coating.
The cornice consists of two parts (sandwich):
1

Foam core

2

Quartz marble coating applied over the cornice shape

Coating thickness: 2 mm, 3 mm, or 4 mm depending on foam moisture during production.

Foam grade: 25 or 35, which does not significantly affect performance.
Fixing:
The back part of the cornice is made of foam, so it is glued using any cement based glue designed for fixing foam to walls.

1. Cornice preparation:

  • All cornices must be trimmed.
  • Each cornice is cut 1 cm from the edge to achieve a perfectly straight 90 degree cut.
  • This ensures precise joint alignment without gaps.

2. Cornice joining:

  • Cement based glue is used.
  • Glue is applied to the cornice ends, then the elements are joined.
  • The glue should be fluid but not runny, so excess comes out when pressed.
  • Excess glue is removed immediately with a dry or slightly damp brush to avoid sanding the next day.

3. Joint sealing:

  • A liquid membrane developed by our company is applied to the joints.
  • It prevents the appearance of fine cracks after painting.

Paint selection

Importance of priming:
The primer is selected depending on the paint type.

Smooth paints:

  • Require a perfectly prepared surface.
  • A deep penetration primer is used, liquid and without texture.

Additional recommendations:
If a high quality smooth facade paint is applied over structural paint, it prevents dust accumulation.
